Célia Vieira is an assistant professor at Instituto Universitário da Maia (ISMAI), a researcher at CIAC (Center for Research in Arts and Communication) and director of the Center of research for Intermediality studies and technologies of ISMAI. She has specialized in the field of comparative literature, with the PhD thesis Theory of the Iberian Naturalist Novel and its French Orientation, and has several publications in the fields of comparative and intermediality studies, narratology, Portuguese literature and digital humanities. She is part of the international research group Labex Naturalisme Monde, from ITEM-CNRS.

Graduated from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Philosophy, Sociology Department (1978) and worked until 1991 as an industrial sociologist in several plants in Sibiu County and in Sibiu.
In 1991 she became a museologist at the Art Gallery of the Brukenthal-Museum, and during the academic year 1994-95 she was a grand holder of the MA program of the Central European University in Prague, Department of Art history and Philosophy of Art.
From 1997 to 2003 she was PhD candidate at the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, her thesis dealing with the cultural life of the German minority between 1945 and 1989.
In 1999 she became researcher, later senior researcher, at the Institute for Social Sciences and the Humanities of the Romanian Academy, Sibiu branch, where she worked until 2015 when she retired. Her main fields of interest are 19th and 20th century fine arts, the European vanguard movement as well as art and culture of the German minority in Romania.
Dr. Gudrun-Liane Ittu is author of 7 books and co-author of 3. She has also contributed about 100 articles and scholarly papers to journals from Romania and abroad. Since 2016 she conducts research at the Library of the “Lucian Blaga” University Sibiu.
