People With Disabilities
The ULBS Library building includes a number of features designed for people with disabilities:
• access ramp to the entrance from outside the building
• access ramp to the entrance from the ground floor of the library
• access elevator sized up to level 4
• dimensioned mixed toilet on the ground floor, equipped with support supports.
Services and resources for the visually impaired:
• individual offices to increase working comfort
• publications printed in the Braille alphabet;
• specialized hardware and software.
Available equipment:
• Brailliant BI 40X braille display;
• BrailleNote Touch Plus 32 – Tablet and note-taker;
• Reveal 16i – Smart desktop magnifier.
Software components:
• Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 Professional + USB headset + PowerMic;
• Software: Kurzweil 3000.
On each level you can contact the librarian on duty, who can provide support in finding publications on the shelf, transporting them to a certain point, accessing specialized software and equipment, moving around the library premises. We are constantly looking for solutions to make the spaces accessible and to enrich the resources in the library for our users with special needs and we initiate new projects in this regard.
