National Conference of the Romanian Librarians Association – XXXIV-th edition
LIBRARY – FROM TRADITIONAL TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE,
Sibiu, september 3 – 6, 2024
The “Lucian Blaga” University Library is hosting the 34th edition of the National Conference of the Romanian Librarians’ Association (ABR), which this year has as theme “Library – from traditional to artificial intelligence”.
The official opening will take place on September 4, 2024, at 9.00 a.m., in the Aula Magna of LBUS, preceded on September 3 by a satellite event organized by the main sponsor Softlink, during which state-of-the-art technical solutions will be presented.
The conference will be attended by some of the most prestigious names in the field, representatives of international library associations and institutions in the country.
The conference will be organized into specialized divisions and sections: acquisitions and collection development, cataloguing, classification, indexing, information literacy, statistics and evaluation, education and training, periodicals, etc.
In the context of today’s digital transformations, this scientific event aims to provide a meeting place for participants to discuss common problems and identify solutions, while highlighting the achievements of the profession and the evolution of the field.
The event will take place in a hybrid format, being organized by the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu – ULBS Library together with ABR, ASTRA Sibiu County Library, local and national partners – Sibiu County Council, ASTRA Museum, AGERPRES, with the support of several sponsors.
The ABR conference is held every year in another city in the country, being the third edition hosted by Sibiu, after the 2011 and 2018 conferences.
