The LBUS Library together with the LBUS Research, Development and Innovation Support Service is intermediating the possibility of free Open Access (OA) publishing in journals included in the databases to which LBUS subscribes within the project “Access to scientific literature and Open Access publishing” ANELIS PLUS 2023 – 2025. The main strategy for the implementation of Open Access elements is the conversion of the classical subscription license agreement model into a Transformative Agreement model.
The Anelis Plus consortium, of which LBUS is a member, has signed a series of Transformative Agreements for several electronic resource providers, negotiating an elimination of Open Access publishing fees for its consortium members. The Transformative Agreement includes the transfer of a percentage of the reading fee to the publication fee. The Article Processing Charge (APC) is the charge that an author of an article must pay in order to have the results of their work published in Open Access. More details about these transformative agreements and the number of APCs available for each provider can be found here.
Below is the list of journals, by provider, where ULBS-affiliated authors can publish for free in Open Access under transformative agreements. The list is updated regularly, the goal of Anelis Plus is to include as many publications as possible in these transformative agreements.
Elsevier
IEEE
Wiley
Cambridge – Open Access
Cambridge – Hybrid Open Access
Springer
Broadly speaking, the steps for publishing an article are as follows: preparing the manuscript, choosing the journal, uploading the paper by the author to the journal page, and carrying out the peer review process.
Below are the publication instructions for each journal, depending on the provider:
1. Springer
2. Wiley
3. IEEE
4. RSC
5.CAMBRIDGE
In order to benefit from OA publication through AnelisPlus, the corresponding author must be affiliated to LBUS and the fee reduction is on a first-come, first-served basis, as the number of Article Processing Charges (APCs) for OA publication is limited for some publishers. When these are fully used up, the AnelisPlus Consortium can no longer finance the publication fee.
